Getting Started with EasyEDA for circuit simulation and PCB design is a unique website tool which provides the facility to design, simulate, discuss and share the different types of schematics, circuit simulations and printed circuit boards for the engineers, students and other people.It is free and easy to use. The user can easily create and edit the schematics, simulations, the printed circuit boards and some degree of projects for free of cost.  Here the user has no restriction to choose his desired PCB manufacturer. The output format is accessible in pdf, PNG and SVG formats.

It is totally a web based tool and independent of any operating system. It is not needed to download and install on any machine. It can be simply used by the utilization of a browser of any operating system. This website provides the capacity for the users to download the Gerber files for free. EasyEDA provides:

Schematic capture, spice-based simulation, PCB layout, PCB Design Rules and Checking, Spice netlist, WaveForm simulation plot data (in CSV format, Spice netlist, Creation of BoM reports, Import (ltium/ProtelDXP Ascii Schematic/PCB, Eagle Schematic/PCB/libs, LT spice Schematic/ Kicadlibs/ modules, Spice models and sub-circuits), creating and editing symbol, waveform viewer, post schematic measurements, creating and editing the PCB footprints, library management, and online sharing.

Spice Simulation

This is important based on cloud analog, digital and mixed-signal simulator which supports the free and open source software Ngspice package.

EASYEDA is an industrial strength mock-up tool that arises pre-loaded with a wide-ranging library of spice models, sub- circuits and other symbols. If the user needs any of the part which is not present as built-in in EASYEDA, then he can search it from user contributed library section or he can import a standard vendor model.

Moreover; symbols of the new parts can be constructed easily by means of existing parts or by the symbol wizard. Here models are developed to replicate the behavior of the real devices. Waveform plot data is converted in csv format for advance analysis.

Another property of EASYEDA is that the wave form window is not only saved in a project but the plots saved in waveform window can be viewed as exactly as they were appeared at first time. After saving it in a project file, the user can export it into .pdf, .png or .svg file format to his device for quality records purpose.We can also generate a Bill of materials (BOM) Report file but it lacks the physical components that are the element of the real design.

PCB Design

When the schematic design is setup and simulation results are found satisfactory, then we can move easily towards settled PCB devoid of exiting the EASYEDA. This can easily help to quickly built up and lay out even more complex multi-layer diagrams. This diagram is then passed into the PCB Design editor by the click of a button: ‘just click the project to PCB’ which is present on the top tool bar. We can easily build up the library of unique and concentrated parts by means of copy and modify the parts from the existing parts or from scratch with the help of foot-prints creating & editing tools.

Super Menu > Miscellaneous > Design Manager…

There is a PCB design manager to locate and navigate the items working in PCB canvas. The PCB Design manager is the most important tool for discovering the components, tracks called nets and pads termed as net pads. It highlights the component when a click is made on any item and spins it towards the center of the window.

Super Menu > Miscellaneous > Layer Options…

We can choose the layer option for layers and their display colours.

Super Menu > Miscellaneous > Design Rule Check…

Using the super menu, Design Rule Checked (DRC) dialog box is used for crack widths, hole dimensions and clearances. This is the last step for checking PCB design before producing the Gerber & Drill files to finish the PCB. After this a final step is made to check the Gerber & Drill files by installing and using free and open source software ‘gerbv’ named  as Gerber viewer.

This tool suite supports up to 6 layers PCB but it is proficient in handling more layers. The size of the PCB is almost unlimited: designs of over 100 cm * 100 Cm are achievable but it requires a powerful computer.easyda PCB designing

At the bottom of the left hand Navigation panel there will be a button with “More Libraries”.Click it, or press the hotkey combination: Shift+F.components
