Do Matter smart blinds need a hub?

Do Matter blinds work with Home Assistant and without internet?

Yes to both. Home Assistant’s Matter integration (with a Thread radio such as a SkyConnect or Connect ZBT-1, or an existing Apple or Google border router) can commission these shades directly. Because Matter is local, schedules and automations on a local hub keep running during an internet outage. You only lose remote access from outside the home and any cloud features of the maker’s app.
