Bill prediction and power factor measuring with SMS alert system is system that calculate the bill of any specific equipment as well as with their power factor measurements and sends these measurements or information at consumer or user mobile phone. So many equipment’s or appliances are used at domestic and industrial level which have different power factor and real power. The equipment’s or appliances which consumer less power and give good power factor, these are considered more efficient as compared to others equipment’s or appliances which consume more power and give bad power factor. In other words, after the measuring the power factor and real power on any specific equipment any one can easily judge the quality of that specific equipment.



Here we have been designed this bill prediction and power factor measuring with SMS alert system with the help of AC transformer, bridge rectifier, voltage regulator, LCD display, Max232, GSM module, energy meter, relays and microcontroller PIC18F452 belongs to pic family. This system is more compact, more reliable, less costly and has the capability to control domestic or industrial load automatically. Working of Bill Prediction & Power Factor Measuring with SMS Alert System

This bill prediction and power factor measuring with SMS alert system is directly coupled with 230V ac. when it is connected with 230V ac then it steps down 230V ac into 6 or 9V ac. Then these ac voltages are converted into dc with help of bridge rectifier and then these are regulated into 5V dc with the help of voltage regulator. This bill prediction and power factor measuring with SMS alert system mostly consists of electronics components therefore all these components such as LCD display, Max232, relays and microcontroller are powered up with the help of voltage regulator. Because this system done all the work automatically therefore microcontroller is basically the main controller of this bill prediction and power factor measuring with SMS alert system. It is programmed in c language with the help of mikro/c software. Here for checking the performance of this system we have connected a lamp load at output side.

When we will send the message after writing digit 1or 3 then this message would be received by the GSM module which is interfaced with microcontroller with the help of interfaced IC Max232, then microcontroller would be tuned on the respective load 1 and 2, similarly for turned off these loads we will send the message after writing digit 2 or 4.  Means, for turned on the load we will send the massage after writing odd digit and for tuned off we will send the message after writing even digit. During this, LCD display is displaying the respective load no, consuming power and their power factor. This system also sends these information or measurements to the user mobile phone through GSM modem. GSM modem has dual function means send or receive the message. For turned on the load for certain amount of time we will just send certain amount of time through SMS then this system would be turned the load for that specific time. Similarly, when we will send the cost of some specific units then this system would be tuned on the load that for that specific units.
