Accident alarm system using pic microcontroller is a system that could be used for knowing the current location and position intimation of any vehicle at user mobile phone through SMS as well alarm during any emergency and normal condition Nowadays the technology is growing day by day specially in security system of human life. By using this technology, we can easily predict the earthquakes, tsunamis and disaster before the time and can save our beloved one’s life. if we talk about only mobile phone technology then this technology also has so much improved.




By using this technology, the user can easily know any intimation message or SMS at their home or place without wasting any time. In our daily life so many accidents are take place at roads, streets or any remote areas. These are sudden accident no one can reach at accidental place without wasting any time and some time the accidental person is not live during this condition as well as some time he is live but he needs to help of some one but he does not have any intimation source in his vehicle and loss his life. Similarly, when someone has thief the vehicles then there should be a system for thief intimation with alarm to vehicles owner.

One concentrating these issues here we have developed a system that is called accident alarm system using pic microcontroller with the help of pic 18F452 microcontroller, GPS module, GSM module, accelerometer, electronic buzzer, LCD display, transformer, voltage regulator and bridge rectifier. This system could be installed in front or back panel of any vehicle without this system also has a button near driving person. This system is less costly, more compact, more reliable, more precise and very easy to install for every person. The block diagram of this accident alarm system using pic microcontroller with all their respective components is shown in figure 1.

Working of Accident Alarm System Using Pic Microcontroller

Accident alarm system using pic microcontroller is directly powered up with 220V ac supply and mostly this system consists of electronics components which are powered up with 5V dc, therefore ac voltages are step down into 12V or 6V ac with the help of step down transformer which works on the principle of mutual induction. These ac voltages are converted into dc with the help of bridge rectifier which consists of four diodes and these voltages are regulate into 5V dc with the help of voltage regulator LM 7805.All the electronics components of this system are powered up with this voltage regulator.

This system consists of two buttons one for minor accident and one for major accident. When any button is pressed during any accidental condition then this system sends the intimation signal to user mobile phone through GSM module with longitude and latitude values of that specific remote point. Longitude and latitude values of that specific point are calculated through GPS module and the tilt or slope angle is measured through accelerometer.

GPS module, GSM module, accelerometer and LCD display are interfaced with microcontroller which is the main controller of this system. It is programmed in c language with the help of mikro/c software. During any accidental condition, this main controller sends the intimation signal to user mobile phone as well as with alarm through electronic buzzer and displays the longitude and latitude values at LCD display. Same work is done by this system during theft or stealing vehicle form owner.
